Sometimes the TennTom can be a bit dangerous. After leaving Demopolis we ran into heavy fog.
For about two hours we could not see anything. Luckily there were no Tow Boats anywhere close. We constantly call out our position on the radio to give any concerned traffic a heads up.
Radar does not do much good here because the river is so narrow with a lot of bends. The chartplotter was of some help… we just kept Istaboa in what we hoped was the Channel.
The occasional out of place buoy would pop out of the fog just to keep us on our toes. In one spot there was a red buoy wrapped around a green buoy. What to do?
